Ex Executive Direcor-Foods of Hindustan Unilever and Chairman of Unilever Nepal Shrijeet Mishra has joined Bennett, Coleman & Company Limited (BCCL) as Chief Operating Officer. Based in Mumbai, Mishra will report in to Ravi Dhariwal, CEO, BCCL. As Executive Director, he will also be a part of the BCCL board.

Confirming the development with BestMediaInfo.com, Ravi Dhariwal said, “Mishra will be responsible for the overall growth of the company especially in consumer driven strategies and new ventures. All BCCL functional directors, excluding Response, will report to him.”

Before joining BCCL, Mishra spent his entire professional career spanning 24 years at HUL. He joined HUL on June 1st 1987.  His experience in HUL comprises of stints in General Management, Marketing Innovation and Activation, Brand & Services Development, Sales Management and Project Management.

A Post Graduate from IIM, Ahmedabad, Mishra has significant General Management and extensive marketing experience in FMCG Industry in a highly competitive market (Soaps, Detergents, Personal Care and Foods) in India and Asia, Africa, Middle East and Turkey.

Out of the 24 years at HUL, he has 5 years of Business experience, 11 years in Marketing and 5 years of Customer Development experience.  Out of his 11 years in Marketing, he has spent 3 years with Unilever in the AsiaAMET region as a Vice President and has just moved back from Singapore where he set up  the Brand Building Excellence for the region across HPC and Foods.  He came back to HUL in July 2007 in his current role as Executive Director-Foods.

He has launched many new brands, and has helped create new categories during his stints that have done well subsequently for HUL, like Lifebuoy Gold, Body Lotions, Deodorants and Domex. He has also led many competitive battles successfully like the battle on Lifebuoy, Fair & Lovely & Ponds.  He has been involved in transitioning through 3 mergers and acquisitions – TOMCO, Ponds & Lakme.

Mishra is a member of various industry associations and has represented the industry in various Committees.
