IIFA: Shah Rukh Khan announces 2 new shows at Kingdom of Dreams

Introduces a musical comedy Jhumroo & Shiamak Davar’s show Here I am-Shiamak; Kingdom of Dreams to feature in Inside on NGC.

Videocon d2h IIFA Weekend 2011 was privy to an exclusive preview of the new Bollywood theatrical productions on Day 2, to be launched at Kingdom of Dreams this year – Jhumroo & Here I am-Shiamak. Shah Rukh Khan, Global Ambassador for India’s first live entertainment and leisure destination announced the ambitious projects at a splendid ceremony at the 12th edition of IIFA (India International Film Awards) in Toronto on 24th June.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahrukh Khan, Global Ambassador, Kingdom of Dreams said, “Kingdom of dreams is reflective of India, its rich culture and seamless heritage and I am proud to promote my country, my India, through this platform. Kingdom of Dreams is a world class experience and I am ecstatic to be a part of an Indian brand that has set the stage for entertainment at its very best.”

An out and out musical comedy – ‘Jhumroo’ will be launched in October 2011 at Kingdom of Dreams. Packed with 19 Bollywood retro songs, Jhumroo is a celebration of the spirit of Kishore Kumar and literally so. Jhumroo not only promises its audience a good laugh and a happy experience but will also surprise them with twists and turns in the storyline and an astonishing use of technology to help build the story, a unique prospect to be showcased only in Nautanki Mahal at the Kingdom of Dreams.

In a first of its kind initiative, Kingdom of Dreams will also present ‘Here I am –Shiamak’ a Vegas styled dance and music show fitted perfectly in the state of the art auditorium – Nautanki Mahal. This extravaganza by the phenomenal dance maestro will bring various genres of dance alive on stage.

“I am really excited to perform live at Nautanki Mahal in Kingdom of Dreams. ‘Here I am’ is a unique theatrical spectacular with an international format which will be seen for the first time at the amazing Kingdom of Dreams,” Shiamak Davar said on the association.

Present for this significant announcement were celebrated actors from the Indian film fraternity, World media, Shiamak Davar, Viraf Sarkari, Andre Timmins, Sabbas Joseph, Directors, Wizcraft International Entertainment and Anumod Sharma, Apra Group of Companies.

‘ZANGOORA’ - The Gypsy Prince, world’s biggest cinematic themed theatrical musical commenced at the magnificent Nautanki Mahal nine months ago and completed its sensational run of 300 successful shows on 11 June 2011. Kingdom of Dreams on this historic occasion has taken yet another leap by taking ZANGOORA on a world tour in 2012.  Now the star cast of ZANGOORA will mesmerise the audiences around the world with their stellar performances.

Expressing his excitement, Viraf Sarkari, Director, Wizcraft International Entertainment said, “It is a very proud moment for all of us. The star studded event also witnessed a special showcase of the first ever documentary on Kingdom of Dreams by National Geographic Channel for the remarkable show ‘Inside’. Nat Geo’s ‘Inside’ unravels the world's most restricted places and spectacular destinations, highlighting their use of science, high-tech tools and other lesser known facets. INSIDE: Kingdom of Dreams will premiere on National Geographic Channel on 7th August 2011, at 10 pm.

After giving the viewers an ultimate tour of London's Theatre Albert Royal to discover the outstanding musical production The Lord of the Rings LIVE;  behind the scenes from one of the biggest Rolling Stones concerts on the beaches of Brazil; following the centre of the world famous Rio Carnival– NOW for the first time, multiple award winning show Inside on National Geographic Channel takes you to India’s most vibrant new entertainment destination – the magnificent Kingdom of Dreams located in Gurgaon, India. The documentary unveils how Kingdom of Dreams brings together the best of modern technology and wizardry integrated perfectly with traditional Indian performing arts, cinematic entertainment and India’s rich cultural heritage.
