Ardent discussions and heated debates on teams, players, their performances and match results are common features during the cricketing season. When team India was inching towards the ICC Cricket World Cup, Radio Mirchi partnered with Vicks to present to the Mirchi listeners, the first-ever 'Vicks Cricket Jockey' contest!

In its all-new and enterprising association with Vicks, Radio Mirchi organized the 'Vicks Cricket Jockey' contest where it gave its fans to become the perfect Jockey who can entertain the listeners by talking endlessly about cricket, only on the Mirchi airwaves!

The mammoth campaign was held in Delhi, Jaipur, Indore, Bhopal, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Vizag, Bangalore and Thiruvanthapuram for over 50 days and participation from thousands of enthusiastic respondents who were delighted at this unique opportunity to be on air and express their views on cricket.

From the audition screenings, top 8 lucky participants were chosen from each city by the Mirchi RJs. Radio Mirchi also brought in cricket veterans like Anshuman Gaekwad, Mitali Raj and Boria Mazumdar who short-listed 3 finalists from each of the 15 cities.

The contestants faced 'Harsha ki googly' where they spoke on the various topics assigned to them by Harsha Bhogle himself!

In the last phase, Radio Mirchi invited its listeners to choose their favourite Cricket Jockeys through SMS voting. The aspiring cricket jockeys saw huge support and cheer as thousands of SMS-es poured in just about 4 days.
