The Global Awards®, honoring the “World’s Best Healthcare Advertising ™,” announced its 2010 award winners on Monday, December 6th at a cocktail/awards celebration held at the Eli Klein Gallery  in New York City.  The GrandJury® awarded a Global Award to McCann Healthcare Worldwide Mumbai for their poster campaign “Marriage/Study/Drive/Fly/Pleasure/Mother” for client Epilex Chromo.

McCann’s award-winning entry was created to break the myths and barriers that persons with epilepsy have to face every day.  The poster campaign stressed that with medication, people with epilepsy can experience all types of normal activities, such as getting married, studying in school, driving a car, and becoming a mother.  Creative credits  for the campaign include: Deepa Blasa, Creative Director; Sanjay Kudale, Creative Director; Rohit Mukherjee, Copywriter; and Jitendra Choudhari, Associate Creative Director(Art).

The GrandJury awarded the following agencies Finalist Certificates: Aakanksha Healthcare, recognized for “Zedex – Pause” for client Zedex Losenges; McCann Healthcare Worldwide  for “Birth Calendar”,  for client CCM/Ferronine; and  Point Blank Advertising for “Catch”,  for client Bexomer.

This year’s GrandJury® awarded two prestigious Grand Global Awards, one to Taxi Canada, for “Antiquing/Strolling/Reading” for client Viagra, winning in Television Advertisement Communication to the Consumer/Patient, and the second to McCann Healthcare Worldwide Japan, for “It’s Easy” for client Saizen (easy pod) Merck Serono, winning in New Product Launch  Communication to the Healthcare Professional.    In addition, 31 Global Awards and 115 Finalist Certificates were awarded.

A Global Awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 8th in Sydney, Australia.  The event will be presented by The Global Awards and Bravo!, a group of Australian healthcare professionals, with representation from healthcare agencies and the Communications Council of Australia.  The event will be held at Sydney’s Simmer on the Bay, located on historic Walsh Bay, and International Awards Group President Michael O’Rourke will present the awards.

Judging sessions for this year’s Global Awards were hosted by the following prominent international agencies:  McCann Erickson Sydney, Australia; Ogilvy Healthworld London, England; Pharmacom Barcelona, Spain; Topin & Associates Chicago, USA; Trademark DM Melbourne, Australia; and at The Global Awards headquarters in New York, USA.

Now in its 16th year, The Global Awards receives entries from healthcare corporations, hospitals, advertising agencies, production companies, and design studios that produce communications for medical, pharmaceutical, and healthcare related products.  The Global Awards Advisory Board and GrandJury are comprised of a panel of prominent international industry experts, representing the top creative minds in the field of healthcare advertising.
