Viewers Verdict: Who Is The KING Of Prime Time In Metros?

The prime time band on English news channels in eight metros has a different story to tell all together.

The prime time band on English TV news channels in eight metros has a different story to tell all together. In this band as well the fight is intense among three top English news channels NDTV 24X7, CNN-IBN and Times Now.  And like All India market, the prime time band in eight metros also has seen CNN-IBN leading the league for past 7 weeks.

In Prime Band all the veterans of these three top channels are fighting for the maximum eyeballs. With the presence of Dr Pranoy Roy, Vikram Chandra, Nidhi Razdan and Burkha dutt NDTV looks the strongest in this band. CNN-IBN with Rajdeep Sardesai and Sagarika Ghose in prime time gives tight fight to NDTV. Times Now only banks on Arnab Goswami and his Newshour single handedly takes on other channels.

In last 14 weeks in TG CS:AA, 15 years+, SEC AB, 8 Metros, NDTV has been the top channel for six weeks. CNN-IBN is just behind NDTV by topping the chart seven times. Times Now has topped the chart only once.

But when it comes to top 100 shows in last 14 weeks, we have a clear winner, CNN-IBN.  The channel had 84 of its shows in top 100 shows and 9 of its shows in top 10 shows in last 14 weeks. NDTV and Times Now were too weak in this category. NDTV only had 9 of its shows in top 100 shows and only six shows of Times Now could make to the top 100 list. Headlines Today only had one of its show in top 100.
