Radio Mirchi & Radio Mango Win Silver Awards At New York Festivals
In its 28th year, NYF International Radio Program & Promotions Awards honors the most original and innovative work in radio broadcasting.

New York Festivals International Radio Program & Promotions Awards honored its winners Friday, September 24th at the 2010 Radio Awards ceremony held at the Manhattan Penthouse where two prominent Indian radio stations Radio Mango and Radio Mirchi received Silver medals.
Radio Mango 91.0, India was awarded a Silver Trophy for “Children's Day” for Best Special Event and Radio Mirchi, 98.3 received a Silver for “Human Trafficking on Hi Delhi” for Best Human Interest Story.
Ravi Nair, Director Programmes, Radio Mango received the trophy for his FM Station while Breakfast Jockeys of Radio Mirchi Delhi Saurabh Bhramar and Anant Jha received the trophy for their station.
Receiving the honour for Radio Mirchi, RJs Anant & Saurabh, said “Rekha's struggle is a grim reminder of the reality of thousands of helpless women who are victims of human trafficking. Fun and jokes are important to us but we can't turn a blind eye to such atrocities. It's an honour for Radio Mirchi and the entire Indian radio fraternity to have been awarded and recognised in a world radio forum. With this acknowledgement Radio Mirchi has been able to make an impression amongst the world's foremost public broadcast stations. It's an outstanding beginning and surely paves the way for the years to come.”
This year's GrandJury® awarded 2 prestigious Grand Trophies, one to Ten Alps Radio England, and the other to Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Canada. In addition, the Canadian Broadcasting Company was honored with the title of Broadcaster of the Year for the 4th time in 5 years.
This year's international GrandJury® awarded 33 Gold Trophies, 37 Silver, 40 Bronze and 71 Finalist Certificates. Now in its twenty-eighth year of honoring “The World's Best Radio Programs & Promotions™,” the competition honors the most original and innovative work in radio broadcasting, with entries from radio stations, networks, and independent producers from around the world.
All entries were judged by the NYF Radio Program & Promotions Awards GrandJury, consisting of radio experts from stations and companies around the globe and promoted by our network of representatives in 74 countries.
