eBay India joins hands with Band Sanam, launches #NoWorldWithoutGirls campaign

#NoWorldWithoutGirls is an extension of eBay’s earlier campaign #ThingsDontJudge. This time it is for prohibition of sex determination kits. A music video has been launched to spread awareness about the campaign

eBay along with Band Sanam has rolled out its latest campaign, #NoWorldWithoutGirls, to reinforce the prohibition of sex determination kits and speak about the biased mentality of Indian society towards the girl child. #NoWorldWithoutGirls is an extension of eBay’s earlier campaign #ThingsDontJudge.

In order to spread awareness about the campaign, eBay India along with the #Fab4, Sanam has launched a music video on July 20.

Speaking about the launch, Shivani Suri, Director, Marketing, eBay India, said, “At eBay India, it’s been our continuous endeavour to inspire consumers to shop for their favourite things from our widest range of 10 crore products without any inhibitions or fear of societal judgements.  But we stand against one thing that judges a girl even before she is born, by prohibiting availability of sex determination kits on our site. Through the campaign #NoWorldWithoutGirls and our association with immensely popular and gifted talent such as Band Sanam we aim to drive awareness for this cause among the youth in the language (music) they understand best.”

Sanam band consists of Sanam Puri (Lead Vocals), Samar Puri (Lead Guitar), Venky S (Bass Guitar), Keshav Dhanraj (Drums). The video will highlight the harshest judgement faced by a daughter even before she is born.

Band Sanam, added, “We are extremely pleased to collaborate with eBay India in this endeavour to drive awareness for a cause that continues to plague our society. Music is an extremely powerful medium to send across a message and we believe that our latest attempt will strike the right chord with our loyal fan base. Our choice of song which is the title track from the popular movie Lakshya, truly embodies the music video for the campaign #NoWorldWithoutGirls.”

In October 2016, eBay India had launched its campaign #ThingsDontJudge that urged consumers to break free from rudimentary notions while shopping online.
