Valentine's Day is being overwhelmed by the colour red, big squishy teddy bears and heart-shaped chocolates. But it is also that time of the year when we celebrate the emotion called love, which comes in all shapes and sizes, assuming all the colours of the rainbow and at unexpected stages in our life from people we never expect it from.

Taking one such look at the love, CaraLane and Famous Innovations have come up with a campaign that urges people to look at the 'every day love' that we often tend to overlook. The campaign includes two films showcasing new-age relationships in a new light this Valentine's Day.

The first film explores the bond between roommates who become each other's family away from home. While one roommate is an airhostess who always has flights at odd hours of the night, the other is an artist who is fast asleep when her friend leaves. So as not to disturb her friend, the airhostess always gets ready in the dark. Thanks to their completely opposite schedules, they rarely meet and yet, they manage to put a smile on each other's faces. The artist reciprocates her friend's gesture by gifting a beautiful pendant from CaratLane.

The second film looks at two female colleagues during the office lunch hour. The younger colleague is staying away from home and is always seen ordering food from outside, food that she doesn't seem to like. While many others are oblivious to her obvious food problems, the older colleague notices this and asks the younger one to share her tiffin. This turns into a routine and one day the older colleague even brings an extra tiffin just for the younger colleague. As a thank you, she gets the older colleague earrings from CaratLane.

Speaking about the campaign, Atul Sinha, Senior Vice-President, Marketing, said, “Celebrating Valentine's Day has gained a lot of popularity in India, but most people think of it as a celebration of love between couples. The truth is that in our lives, there are several people who show us love through their everyday acts of love and kindness. This Valentine's Day we wanted to encourage people to recognise and celebrate the love that they see in their everyday relationships. We have launched a range of jewellery collections that include motifs like lovebirds, bows, hearts, initials and personalised trinkets to celebrate the love in different relationships.”

Commenting on the idea and the message behind the films, Raj Kamble, Founder and CCO, Famous Innovations, said, “Valentine's Day has always been seen as couple's day. But of course, love isn't just limited to couples or to one day. And as a brand which stands for every day jewellery, we decided to talk about the love that we see and experience every day. The love that touches our lives in small, but very significant ways. These films spin the idea of "love" on its head, and thereby show the gifting of jewellery in a new light. We're telling people that on Valentine's day you can gift something to your mom, sister, brother, dad, roommate or anyone who is close to your heart.”
