Disney Star has appointed Kingshuk Mitra as Star Sports' ad sales head. Mitra has replaced Ambarish Bandyopadhyay, who quit the company in March.
Bandyopadhyay later joined ESME Consumer as Head of Sales and Distribution. Mitra will be reporting to Ajit Varghese, Disney Star's Head of Network Advertising Sales.
Earlier, Mitra was the COO, APAC at Essence Media. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director at Maxus, Philippines.
In a career spanning over 20 years, Mitra has worked with WPP as Business Manager, Mindshare India.
He was also associated with Emami as Research and Investment Manager between June 2005 and December 2005. After that, he worked with Madison World as Media Group Head.
