Zee Hindustan hosts ‘Ananya Samman’ award ceremony to felicitate experts from various fields

Sunil Gavaskar, the former captain for the Indian Cricket team and World Cup 1983 winner, was awarded the Life time achiever award at the event

Zee Hindustan hosted its flagship event ‘Ananya Samman’ awards ceremony felicitating leaders of the society. This year, former Captain for the Indian Cricket – Sunil Gavaskar was awarded the Life time achiever award.

Some of the recipients of various awards were Padma Bhushan Awardee, Sajan Mishra for his contribution to the Indian Classical music; Karnam Malleshwari and Deepa Malik for their outstanding achievements in the field of sports; Kumar Vishwas for his exceptional accomplishment in the field of poetry, and Dr Randeep Guleria, Director AIIMS, whose contribution to medicine has been pivotal for the health sector. 

‘Ananya Samman’ is an initiative of Zee Media to recognise the contribution of various people through different fields. The award show had three categories – ‘Ananya Vishesh’, saluting the unsung heroes across the country who deserve due recognition for helping the community during such challenging times; ‘Ananya Samman’, to acknowledge and award eminent personalities consisting of celebrities and luminaries, and the Lifetime Achiever Award for felicitating an icon who has devoted his/her life to become a true maverick in their respective field.

The evening was graced by various Union Ministers, Jitendra Singh, Anupriya Singh Patel, Prahalad Singh Patel, and Mahesh Sharma.

Some other personalities people who attended the event and were facilitated include MJ Kadri, Ramveer Tanvar, and Gaurav Rai.

In his address during the Ananya Samman, Purushottam Vaishnava, CEO, Zee Hindustan, said, “Zee media is proud to honour stalwarts from various industries who are working towards the betterment of society and abide to make a difference in many ways. With these awards our aim is to acknowledge the great work done by these dignitaries so as to inspire many more people to contribute to the society.”
