The India Today Group has announced the appointment of Rohit Saran as its Editorial Advisor.
Saran joins India Today Group from Times of India, where he was serving as Editor-in-Chief of TOI Digital and Managing Director, TOI.
This is Saran’s third tenure with the India Today Group. He has earlier served as Executive Editor of India Today and Editor of Business Today.
An internal note shared by Kalli Purie, Vice-Chairperson, India Today Group, announcing Saran’s arrival read, “Out of Rohit’s 30 years of vast professional experience more than half has been with us. He now starts his 3rd stint with several strategic and new initiatives which shall be announced in due course. Rohit will be reporting to Chairman Aroon Purie and me. He will be based at Mediaplex.”
As per the internal note, he has launched several new products and properties, including Money Today, State of the States, and BITE. His latest innovations include TOI Plus and Times Top 10.
In his 30-year career Saran has also served at Khaleej Times and The Economic Times.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and has an interest in data science and digital journalism.
