As the trial against Tesla continues and Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, took the stand to defend his company, along with justifying his $56 billion pay package, he has expressed that he no longer wishes to be the CEO of any company, as per media reports.
This comes at a time amid Musk’s turbulent takeover of Twitter, post which the microblogging platform had laid-off more than 50% of its workforce.
While revealing the reason behind his potential discontent at the ‘CEO’ title, Musk stated that he doesn’t view his role as that of a traditional chief executive officer.
In his view, the role of a CEO is often thought to be a business-focussed one while in reality it is much more than that of an engineer developing breakthrough technologies and ensuring that the company has a team of incredible engineers who help in achieving these goals.
Furthermore, he also went on to state that he doesn’t intend to continue as the CEO of Twitter in the long run and expects to reduce his time at the company by finding someone else to run the micro-blogging platform.
According to several media reports, James Murdoch, former Tesla Board member also threw light on the fact that Musk is contemplating on stepping down as Tesla CEO as well.
