Arun Anant, Director, Revenue and Strategy, Hindustan Times, has decided to move on and end his nearly four-year stint with the leading publication group. April 20, 2017 will be his last day and work.

Regarding the reason for his quiiting HT, Anant said, “I have a company called Taxsutra which I promoted a few years ago. I want to concentrate all my energies in Taxsutra.”

On asking if he would want to come back to the media and entertainment industry again, he said, “It’s unlikely that I will come back to the corporate set-up of M&E.”

Anant is armed with over 25 years of experience. He had joined Hindustan Times in 2013 from The Hindu where he was CEO.

Anant will continue to be based in Mumbai.

Anant started his career with Lintas in 1988 where he worked for over 11 years in Client Servicing, Market Research and Account Planning. During that stint, he worked with several large multinational clients such as Unilever, Cadburys and Philips. He has worked with two other major media groups – first as Business Head for The Economic Times between 2003 and 2007 and subsequently from 2007 to 2008 he was CEO of UTV News (later rechristened Bloomberg TV).

He has also had entrepreneur stints, first with Myiris.com, a stock market content portal, in 2000-2002 and later between 2008-2011 with Incvalue Advisory, a consultancy focussed on strategy and innovation for startups.

Anant is a Chemical Engineer from BHU-IT Varanasi and he subsequently completed his Post Graduation in Management from IIM-Ahmedabad.
