Nishi Suri, COO, Cheil SWA, said, “Today clients have moved beyond traditional digital solutions and are looking for new ideas, products and innovations leveraging technology solutions to drive business growth. As an agency built for now, our differentiation comes from technology + creativity. In keeping with that thrust we are proud to be the first ever full service agency with e-commerce capability to drive digital transformation for our clients.”
Speaking about the new venture, Sanjeev Jasani, Chief Digital Officer, Cheil SWA, said, “In our endeavour to become a full service digital agency, we now introduce e-commerce practice with both consulting and implementation capabilities to solve online business problems of our clients. We are delighted to have Varun on board to lead this practice as he comes with proven track record of solving complex digital business problems and scaling online businesses. It is just the beginning and we will be making further investments in this area to announce new offerings within this practice.”
Commenting on his role, Jha said, “With an online shopper base of 70mn, smartphone users of over 300 mn, and internet user base of 450 mn, India is well poised for the next phase of e-commerce growth that will happen over next four years. However there’s still a huge gap between the desired customer experience vis-à-vis what brand delivers. Also, with the buying funnel being so complex, it is very important for brands to understand the user journey and invest in technology solutions that can enrich their experience. India is ready to adopt the next wave of 100 mn online shoppers and hence it’s equally important to tap into new and existing users through a host of innovative e-commerce solutions. This calls for business to look for new digital channels, create new products, enhance the existing web offerings and create new systems at scale! Cheil e-Commerce has been created keeping these needs in mind. We are sure to add value to our clients.”
