Colors Bangla's 'Sona Roder Gaan' aims to reignite the importance of women in family

With the aim to reignite the importance of women in the family, regional entertainment channel Colors Bangla has announced the launch of its new show ‘Sona Roder Gaan’.

Produced by Organinc Studios, ‘Sona Roder Gaan’ will go on-air from January 24, and will be telecast every day at 8 pm on Colors Bangla.

The show, with Rishi Kaushik and Payel Dey playing the lead roles, is about the fighting spirit of Anondi, as she takes on the burden of familial responsibilities.

The show highlights how, despite all adversities, Anondi (played by Payel Dey) overcomes her struggles with courage and honesty and how she puts her family’s happiness ahead of hers.

Sagnik Ghosh, Business Head, Colors Bangla, said, “We want to provide inspiring stories with wholesome entertainment to our viewers. We have always put forward stories of strong women characters and even here we come across Anondi, who becomes the sole breadwinner following the untimely demise of her father. The show has a stellar starcast, including veteran theatre artist Sohini Sengupta, Bhaskar Banerjee, Soham Maitra, among others. The audience will be able to relate to Anondi’s story, her happiness and sorrows.”

Anondi is a sweet, joyful girl, who is loved and adored by her family. While she is clever, she is not street-smart or exposed to the harsh realities of the outside world. She is protected and taken care of by her father, mother and her family. Anondi is excited to start a new life by marrying Bikram (played by Shoumyo Banerjee).

However, her father’s sudden health issues on the eve of her wedding changes everything forever. Her life changes when she meets Anubhav (played by Rishi Kaushik) who takes good care of their family as her father is on death bed. Life takes another bad turn as her dad passes away and everyone blames her for this. Now it is up to her to take care of her family.

To promote the show, Colors Bangla has designed a marketing campaign across print, television, and digital platforms. For print, the channel will be targeting key publications on the launch day.

On the digital front, the show will be promoted heavily on all social media platforms to reach out to the target audience.
