MMA extends deadline for entries submissions to 2021 Smarties India Awards; announces Jury

MMA has introduced a new category of ‘Contextual/Native Advertising’ where brands will be assessed on advertising on a website which allows them to fit into – and not disrupt – the audience experience

MMA India has announced the extended deadline for entries submission to the Smarties Awards 2021. The new date is July 25, 2021. This is MMA’s tenth edition of Smarties India Awards, which is scheduled to be held virtually on September 24, 2021.

MMA has introduced a new category of ‘Contextual/Native Advertising’ where brands will be assessed on advertising on a website which allows them to fit into – and not disrupt – the audience experience. The ads follow the natural form and function of the user experience in which they are placed or are relevant to the page’s content. This also includes in-game, in-video, behavioural advertising, or native advertising.

To evaluate the campaigns across four key themes – media, marketing objectives, technology and creative – this year’s jury comprises 27 senior-level brand marketers led by jury chair Hemant Malik - Divisional Chief Executive - Foods at ITC Limited. Other jury members include prominent marketers and brand specialists. Few names such as:

  • Meghna Apparao - Chief Business Officer, Licious
  • Ajay Kakar – MMA India Board Member; CMO, Aditya Birla Capital Limited
  • Moneka Khurana – MMA India Board Member; Country Head – India, MMA
  • Sujit Ganguli – Head Corporate Brand and Communications Group, ICICI Bank Ltd
  • Tarun Jha – Head of Marketing, Skoda Auto India
  • Deepa Krishnan - Director – Marketing, Category, Loyalty and Digital, Tata Starbucks Pvt. Ltd.
  • Rohit Dadwal - MMA India Board Member; Managing Director – APAC, MMA
  • Roshni Das - MMA India Board Member; Director - Marketing, Intel India
  • Girish Kalyanaraman - Vice President, Brand Operations, P&G India
  • Sunil Suresh - CMO, Make My Trip

The Smarties are the world’s only global mobile marketing awards programme honouring innovation, creativity and success, and MMA is calling for entries to Smarties 2021, encouraging agencies, brands, and marketers who have secured outstanding achievements across the mobile marketing ecosystem during the pandemic year.

Eligibility and deadline

To be eligible for the awards, campaigns need to be active in the marketplace between January 2020 through June 2021. The extended deadline for all entries is July 25, 2021.
