Outlook Group has appointed Suchetana Ray as the Editor of Outlook Business. Ray takes over the business magazine from Mahalakshmi Narayanaswamy, who was at the helm for the past 11 years.

"This is a great opportunity for me. Outlook Business is a magazine that I have followed through the formative years of my journalism career and afterwards. To head this brand editorially is not just a privilege, but a huge responsibility. I am grateful to the Group's management for trusting me to build this further," said Ray.

Over her 15 years’ career in editorial and brand, she has worked across all mediums, including print, digital and television. Prior to this, she was the Senior Assistant Editor at The Economic Times. During her stint there, Ray played a critical role in building the company's branded solutions business with her ideas and execution. She has also had successful stints at ET Now, The Hindustan Times and BusinessWorld. During her tenure at HT, she was a key stakeholder of the 'digital first' transformation of the newsroom.

"After speaking to quite a few people, we believe Ray is the right person to lead Outlook Business during our new phase of digital integration, growth and transformation. She has a diverse experience and a proven track record across digital, print and television that is required in this evolving intersection of media and technology. Newsrooms are changing, globally, and it's not different in India, which is a news hungry market. There are a lot of synergies that can be driven -- in print and digital -- between brands under the Outlook umbrella,” said Indranil Roy, CEO of Outlook Group.

"What impressed us most about her was her passion for great journalism that makes a difference for brands that have exceptional potential for growth. She will build on the outstanding work of Narayanaswamy in extending Outlook Business into digital video, data and experiences. We are delighted that Ray will carry this work forward," said Ruben Banerjee, Editor-in-Chief of Outlook Group.
