FM Tadka reached out to the needy during Covid second wave through Mission Ummeed

FM Tadka, the 18-city network of the Rajasthan Patrika group, has taken an initiative to save lives during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rising Star Awards 2021 Entry Deadline - Friday, June 11, 2021 - ENTER NOW

The initiative launched a month ago soon became a movement. Volunteers, NGOs, citizen collectives soon joined in. RJs’ shows on air and digital interactions became mini-missions with the administration and celebrities pitching in with support to help the Covid-affected needy.

Through radio shows and digital reach out, oxygen cylinders, concentrators, blood donation drives and critical medicines were provided to the needy.

Fellow journalists and listeners also helped with emergency beds in various cities. Doctors also joined in with crucial information, sharing their views via live sessions on the social media handles of FM Tadka.

Actor Ayushman Khurrana, Singer Amit Mishra, former international hockey coach Mir Ra Jan Negi and actress Aarushi Nishank also lent in their voice to Mission Ummeed.

Gaurav S Karrir, National Programming Head, FM Tadka, said, “At one point, Mission Ummeed became a personal mission for our RJs, seeing them transform into Covid warriors themselves was quite heartening. More power to the human chain and radio’s critical role in the community.”
