Media and communication industry veteran D K Bose passed away early morning on October 9.
DK, as he was popularly called, was a pioneer in the field of Social Marketing, having started the country’s first Social Marketing Agency, Thomson Social. He later went on to head Ogilvy Outreach. Prior to his Social Marketing stint, DK was a very successful Media professional holding leadership positions at JWT and R K Swamy agencies. DK was also a visiting faculty at many institutions and tutored many who are stalwarts of the communication industry today.
He was awarded the lifetime Achievement Award from Rural Marketing Association of India in 2017.
His love for the outdoors took him to far reaching places in India and overseas. Ironically he passed away in his sleep in the night of 8/9 October in a hotel room in Mcleodgung where he had gone just a couple of days ago to break free from the lock in due to the lockdown.
DK had got his biography published recently through amazon called Life Unstoppable. A belief that he maintained through his life. DK is survived by his son and daughter and their families.
