GEC Watch: Zee TV climbs to top spot in Urban market in Week 5

Zee TV bags lead position in the Urban market as Star Plus drops to third spot. Sony Entertainment Television maintains its second spot. Zee Anmol maintains its top spot in the Urban+Rural markets.

Zee TV climbed up to the top spot in the Urban market while Star Plus slipped to the third position in Week 5 on the BARC GEC chart. Sony Entertainment Television maintained its second spot in the Urban market. The Urban+Rural chart also witnessed some changes as Star Plus fell to the fifth spot while Star Utsav and Star Bharat grabbed the third and fourth spots, respectively.

Top channels in U+R market

According to BARC data, India HSM (Urban+Rural): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, for Week 4 (January 26- February 1) of 2019, Zee Anmol at the No.1 position clocked 758.674 million Impressions (last week 751.727 million Impressions). Zee TV maintained the second spot with 738.700 million Impressions (last week 670.312 million Impressions).

Star Utsav moved up to third position with 704.980 million Impressions (last week 636.782 million Impressions) followed by Star Bharat at fourth spot with 613.299 million Impressions (last week 657.509 million Impressions). Star Plus slipped to the fifth spot with 600.903 million Impressions (last week 660.831 million Impressions) followed by Sony Entertainment Television with 578.234 million Impressions (last week 588.888 million Impressions) at the sixth rank.

Colors slipped to seventh position with 548,114 million Impressions (last week 601.403 million Impressions). Sony Pal stayed at eighth with 497.016 million Impressions (last week 484.160 million Impressions). Dangal TV followed at ninth rank with 489.810 million Impressions (last week 479.376 million Impressions) and Rishtey at 10th position with 467.989 million Impressions (last week 430.435 million Impressions).

Zee Anmol's Kundali Bhagya grabbed top spot with 13.062 million Impression (last week 13.516 million Impressions). Followed by, Colors' Naagin 3 at the second spot, logging 12.394 million Impressions (last week 13.469 million Impressions). Zee TV’s Tujhse Hai Raabta entered on third spot with 12.325 million Impressions. Colors’ non-fiction show Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi Jigar Pe Trigger slipped to the fourth rank with 12.134 million Impressions (last week 13.696 million Impressions) whereas Zee Anmol's Kumkum Bhagya slipped to fifth position, registering 11.741 million Impressions (last week 12.091 million Impressions).

In Week 5, Zee TV climbed to the top spot, registering 450.809 million Impressions (last week 414.301 million Impressions) while Sony Entertainment Television maintained the second position with 421.198 million Impressions (last week 430.465 million Impressions). 

Star Plus slipped to the third spot with 415.739 million Impressions (last week 457.095 million Impressions) followed by Colors at the fourth position with 372.141 million Impressions (last week 399.460 million Impressions). Star Bharat clocked 313.658 million Impressions (last week 335.940 million Impressions) at fifth rank whereas Sony SAB at sixth spot, garnered 287.699 million Impressions (last week 299.530 million Impressions). Star Utsav clocked 221.953 million Impressions (last week 210.716 million Impressions) at the seventh position. It was followed by Sony Pal at eighth position with 152.710 million Impressions (last week 149.895 million Impressions). Zee Anmol at ninth spot clocked 138.637 million Impressions (last week 139.063 million Impressions) and &TV at No. 10 with 125.320 million Impressions (last week 124.425 million Impressions).

Star Utsav followed at the second spot with 483.027 million Impressions (last week 426.066 million Impressions).
