Amit Misra

Publicis Communications India has announced the promotion of Amit Misra to CEO, MSL, South Asia. He will lead the brand across SAARC regions, with primary focus on Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The move comes with the goal of driving greater synergy across the region and Groupe companies; to enhance the ‘Power of One’ offerings to clients.  Misra was previously CEO, MSL India. He will continue to report to Saurabh Varma, CEO, Publicis Communications, South Asia.

Misra, who joined MSL in 2013 as EVP and Director, Public Affairs, took over India operations as CEO in 2014. With over two decades of experience, Misra played a pivotal role in building brand MSL in India.

Saurabh Varma

Saurabh Varma, CEO, Publicis Communications, South Asia, said, “South Asia holds incredible opportunities for us and I cannot think of a better leader than Amit to drive synergies for us in this region. Amit has played a tremendous role in building MSL in India. He is a natural leader and has helped grow MSL to newer heights year on year. Under his leadership, MSL continues to deliver and reap the benefits of the Groupe’s ‘Power of One’ strategy. MSL has been awarded the country’s Best PR agency across various forums which truly speaks a lot about Amit’s leadership skills. I wish Amit the very best on his new role.”

Commenting on his development, Misra said, “It is a genuinely exciting time in the region, with the communication landscape evolving at such a rapid pace. The digital explosion in these markets is facilitating innovative and refreshing work, in an always on ecosystem, making MSL the ideal partner to further client ambitions. I am looking forward to working with our exceptional talent pool and leveraging the Power of One model; extending our leadership in these vibrant markets.”
