Cannes Lions 2019: India bags 11 shortlists in Design, Health & Wellness and Print & Publishing

TBWA\India leads the tally with six shortlists. DDB Mudra and McCann India also secured three and two shortlists, respectively

Cannes Lions 2019: India bags 11 shortlists in Design, Health & Wellness and Print & Publishing

Cannes Lions 2019 has announced the shortlists for Design, Health & Wellness and Print & Publishing. Indian agencies have secured a total of 11 shortlists across these three categories.

India has seven shortlists in the Print & Publishing category, followed by two shortlists each in Design and Health & Wellness.

TBWA\India led the tally with six shortlists followed by DDB Mudra Group with three and McCann India with two.

In Design, there were 34 entries from India while the Health & Wellness category had 70 entries from India this year. Seven campaigns in Print & Publishing made it to the shortlists from 41 entries from India.

TBWA India, Mumbai has two shortlists in the Health & Wellness category. The agency’s work titled ‘One Mindful Mind’ for the brand Neurogen Brain & Spine Institute’s Kit has been shortlisted in the two sub-categories, which are Brand-led Education and Awareness, and Health Services & Facilities.

TBWA India is also the only Indian agency to gain two shortlists in the Design category. Its work, ‘One Mindful Mind’ for Neurogen Brain & Spine Institute’s Kit, has been shortlisted in two sub-categories — Promotional Item Design, and Books.

In the Print & Publishing category, DDB Mudra has the maximum shortlists from India with three. TBWA India and McCann India have two shortlists each.

DDB Mudra has its work titled Young Man, Old Man and Kid for Khalsa Aid shortlisted in the sub category — Not-for-profit/ Charity / Government.

TBWA India’s work for Neurogen Brain & Spine Institute’s Kit has been shortlisted in two sub-categories — Commercial Publications, and Adapted Print.

McCann India has each of its work titled Cure 1 and Cure 2 for MindOpeners’ Counselling for Depression shortlisted in the sub-category Healthcare.

The shortlists for Pharma Lions have also been announced. However, no Indian agency has been shortlisted in this category.

Indian agencies have also secured eight shortlists in the Outdoor category. Works from Wunderman Thompson, McCann India and Dentsu Impact have made it to the finalists.

The international festival of creativity had announced the shortlists for Glass, Innovation and Titanium categories last week where Ogilvy’s Hamam Waterproof Saree was the only shortlist from India for Glass Lions.

With 11 shortlists, India has a total of 20 works competing for the Lions across five categories.
