Cheil, WATConsult, K Silent and Cog digital+design secure shortlists at 2019 NYF Advertising Awards

Cheil leads with six shortlists followed by three shortlists each for WATConsult, K Silent. Cog digital+design secures one finalist

India is all set to shine at the New York Festivals with four agencies — Cheil Worldwide, WATConsult, K Silent and Cog digital+design — in the running as finalists. These agencies have secured a total of 13 shortlists.

Cheil Worldwide has finalists in six categories. Three of its entries are for Samsung/ Bixby Virtual Assistant, for the work titled Bixby Voice Forever. One of the entries is in the category group of Film and in the category of Made for Online. The second entry for the same work is in the category group of Positive World Impact and in category of Civic & Social Education: Brand. The third entry is in the category group of Digital/Mobile for the category of Innovation: Technology.

The other three entries of Cheil are for the brand Sense International India, and its work is titled The Good Vibes Project. And all these three entries are in the category group of Digital/Mobile. The three categories in which these entries have been shortlisted are Best Use of Medium, Social/Environmental Good: Charity/Non-Profit and Innovation: Technology.

Two of WATConsult’s entries are for Project Nanhi Kali for the work titled #PowerlessQueen. Both these entries come in the category group of Digital/Mobile (one for Mobile Platforms, and second for Websites and Microsites). And both these entries are in the category of Games.

The third entry of WATConsult is for Snapdeal and Save the Children, for the work titled Kids Not For Sale - #KidsNotForSale. This entry comes in the category group of Digital/Mobile, and for the eCommerce category.

K Silent has bagged three entries too. It comes for the brand Paisabazaar.com for one of the most popular works – The Wedding Speech – 2 brothers, 1 advice, countless emotions! Two of these entries come in the Film Craft category group, and under the categories Casting and Direction. The third entry is in the Film category group and for the category Made for Online.

Cog digital+design also has an entry for Osho Flexibles for the work titled Alive with Osho. The entry comes in the category group of Artistry & Craft in Advertising, and in the category of Art Direction.

The finalists were announced from entries submitted from 62 countries for the following Category Groups: Activation & Engagement, Audio/Radio, Artistry & Craft in Advertising, Avant-Garde/ Innovative, Branded Content/Entertainment, Creative Marketing Strategy/Effectiveness, Collaborations & Partnerships, Direct & Colleterial, Design, Digital/Mobile, Film (Cinema/Online/TV), Film Craft, Outdoor, Package & Product Design, Print, Positive World Impact, Public Relations, Social Media & Influencer, Sports and Student.

“We’re thrilled with the caliber of this year’s innovative entries deserving of recognition,” said Susan Glass Ruse, Executive Director, New York Festivals Advertising Awards. “It’s really exciting to see our new categories providing a modern roster to honor cutting-edge work in step with global trends.”

Finalist entries will progress to the live judging rounds with the 2019 Executive Jury, an elite group of global CCO’s and other top agency creatives. The Executive Jury will convene in New York City on Monday April 29 - May 3 for five rounds of judging to select Third Prize, Second Prize, First Prize, Grand Award and Best of Show award-winning entries.

All Film Craft Finalists will be judged on April 30 and May 1 by the Film Craft Executive Jury, comprised of respected film industry experts dedicated to the quality and aesthetics of the film making process.     

“NYFA’s 2019 Executive Juries are respected globally for their award-winning creativity and leadership,” added Ruse. “Their expertise ensures that innovative campaigns of all types are recognized and honored. New York Festivals Advertising award winners showcase the diversity of world-class work reflecting the evolving advertising industry.”     

The New York Festival Advertising Awards 2019 competition winners will be announced the week of May 13.
