DBCL divides digital business into two divisions, announces leadership realignment

Pradeep Singh will head the content division while Gyan Gupta will take the responsibility of the new video app venture platform

DB Corp (DBCL) has announced major changes in its digital business. In an attempt to develop and sharpen its focus on the digital business, DB Digital, the digital division of the group, will be split into two segments – content and new video app venture platform.

While the group’s websites will continue to operate under the content division, DB Corp will set up a new video app venture platform of the group, which should be launched soon.

Pradeep Singh has been appointed as the new Business Head of the digital business. Singh comes with an experience of 20 years in various media houses like Hungama Digital Media Entertainment, Zee News, Zapak Digital Media, HT Media, Business Standard, Pioneer and others. In his current role, he will be responsible for driving revenue for the digital business of Dainik Bhaskar Group.

The video app venture of the group will be headed by Gyan Gupta, the former CEO of DB Digital. Gupta has been associated with the DB Group for over eight years and has played an instrumental role in conceptualising multiple unique features and properties and introducing path-breaking initiatives for the brand. Gupta has also donned multiple leadership roles in the past three years, ranging from business head to COO and CEO.

The two of them in their individual roles would be reporting to Pawan Agarwal, Deputy MD, DB Corp.

Agarwal said, “Both these junctures are equally important for us. While we entrust Gupta to lead the new venture, we welcome Singh to take our digital business forward. His exposure to various media functions and deep understanding of brands and categories, will surely take DB Digital to newer heights.”
