Hemant Misra takes away MakeMyTrip to start entrepreneurial journey with MagicCircle

Till recently, Publicis was handling the creative mandate for the brand. Launched by former CEO of Publicis Capital, the agency will be based in Gurugram

MakeMyTrip has announced the newly launched agency MagicCircle Communications as its agency on record. Launched by Hemant Misra, Former CEO of Publicis Capital, MagicCircle is a full-service advertising agency based only at Gurugram.

Joining Hemant in launching the agency are Natwar Singh, Former Senior Creative Director, Publicis, and Dheeraj Renganath, Former Unit Creative Director, Lowe. This is the first business win for MagicCircle.

Misra said “We believe talent needs to be entrepreneurial, free and experimental. We believe that our clients should be at the heart of advertising and brand campaigns. MagicCircle is one word because it’s a noun, not an adjective. It’s a place where rules are suspended and reality engages with ideas to produce business results not simply great creative.”

Till recently with Publicis, MMT has now awarded their business to MagicCicle.

On winning the MakeMyTrip business account, Misra added, “I am overwhelmed at the trust reposed in us by the brand. Working with MakeMyTrip is more of a partnership than a client-agency relationship. A testimony to that has been MMT’s performance as a leader and the number of awards we’ve won on advertising effectiveness, the latest being the Brand Equity Marketing Award for Best Integrated Campaign.”

Misra is a veteran of 30 years having led iconic agencies like Mudra, JWT and Publicis. He has worked across categories and led major clients like Nestle, Samsung, McDonald’s, Electrolux, Dabur, HM, Orient Fans, Maruti Suzuki, Apollo Tyres, ONGC, HP, Lays, PepsiCo, Cremica, Intex, SpiceJet and Michelin, amongst others.

During his tenure at Publicis, he was responsible for a highly successful merger of Publicis India with Capital forming Publicis Capital and subsequently integrating iStrat into the agency thereby providing clients with Brand and Digital solutions. He was instrumental in leading the Nestle business and led the creation of some path-breaking work on Maggi. Last big wins made by Misra at Publicis were MakeMyTrip, Spicejet, Cremica, Intex and Goibibo.
