GEC Watch: Star Bharat back on top in U+R

In the Week 13 of 2018 (March 24-30), Star Bharat, Colors and Zee Anmol claimed leaderships in the respective U+R, urban and rural markets. Sony Entertainment Television gained significant numbers in the urban markets, on the back of the finale episode of Super Dancer Chapter 2 and the debut episode of Family Time With Kapil Sharma.

Among the TV shows, nothing much changed except for the increase in the viewership numbers of Super Dancer Chapter 2, which was in its finale episode. Zee Anmol’s Jamai Raja too entered the list again.

Top channels in U+R markets

As per select BARC India data for Week 13 of 2018 (March 24-30) for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Star Bharat, once again, sprang up to the top position with 748.554 million (last week 732.651 million) Impressions. Zee Anmol slipped to No. 2 with 737.113 million (last week 810.903 million) Impressions, followed by Sony Pal that too slipped by a spot in the combined U+R markets, with 707.481 million (last week 738.826 million) Impressions. Star Utsav continued at No. 4 position garnering 632.677 million (last week 637.141 million) Impressions. Colors stayed at No. 5 with 530.771 million (last week 563.717 million) Impressions. Zee TV remained at No. 6 clocking 511.841 million (last week 548.874 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television gained significant numbers to climb up to No. 7 by clocking 498.249 million (last week 428.017 million) Impressions. Star Plus slipped to No. 8 had 482.948 million (last week 481.551 million) Impressions. Rishtey slipped by a spot at No. 9 with a gross viewership of 463.064 million (last week 453.042 million) Impressions. Sony SAB remained at No. 10 with 395.521 million (last week 376.912 million) Impressions.

As per select data {HSM (U+R): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya stood at the top by clocking 12.792 million (last week 13.451 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s spin-off show Kundali Bhagya grabbed the second spot with 11.078 million (last week 12.642 million). Sony Entertainment Television’s reality show Super Dancer Chapter 2 stood at No. 3 in its finale episode, gathering 9.806 million Impressions (last week 9.003 million). Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya grabbed 9.243 million (last week 11.554 million) Impressions, at No. 4. Sony Pal’s CID grabbed the fourth spot by clocking 9.049 million (last week 9.372 million) Impressions.

Top channels in urban markets

Colors continued to lead the flock of Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) in the urban markets, garnering 389.161 million (last week 405.894 million) Impressions. Despite losing marginal numbers, Star Bharat stayed at the second spot and has clocked 362.491 million (last week 355.742 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television gained huge numbers and climbed to No. 3 spot with 361.152 million (last week 313.518 million) Impressions, Star Plus stayed at its fourth spot in the urban markets with 339.637 million (last week 337.525 million) Impressions, while Zee TV slipped to No. 5 in the list of most-watched channels on Hindi GEC in urban markets, clocking 316.212 million (last week 342.133 million) Impressions. Sony SAB that garnered 296.829 million (last week 291.467 million) Impressions, stood at No. 6. Sony Pal was at No. 7 with 225.444 million (last week 236.162 million) Impressions. Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya became the most watched show in the rural market grabbing 10.607 million (last week 11.013 million) Impressions. Next two spots were grabbed by Sony Pal’s CID and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah with 6.168 million (last week 6.377 million) and 5.963 million (last week 6.373 million) Impressions, respectively. Zee Anmol’s Jamai Raja and Ganga grabbed the fourth and fifth spot with 5.840 million Impressions and 5.596 million (last week 6.363 million) Impressions.
