HT Media has appointed Coca-Cola’s Debabrata Mukherjee as Executive Director. Mukherjee will look after the revenue and growth initiatives of the company across all publications. He will report to Rajiv Verma, CEO, HT Media.
On his move, Mukherjee, who is also Chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), told BestMediaInfo.com, “ABC has always continuously said that print is growing and the reality is that there is huge opportunity of growth for all form of media in India. Being in FMCG all my life brings the passion, purpose and the ability to look at issues from multiple lenses. I’m bringing my FMCG skillset to the media and a lot of people have done so and have been successful. I wish I will make a difference.”
Mukherjee has more than 24 years of experience in the area of Strategic Planning, Sales and Marketing Operations out of which 20 years were in Coca-Cola. He has headed the marketing function for Coca-Cola in India and South Korea and has also played a leading role in setting up sales and distribution operations in key regions in India.
In his last role as Vice President, South West Asia Region, Operations at Coca-Cola India, he was responsible for driving sustainable accelerated growth in the key South West Asia markets of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.
Having joined Coca-Cola in 1998, Mukherjee has done a series of marketing and general management roles. He was the Head of Marketing for The Coca-Cola Company in Korea before coming back to India in 2011.
He started his career with Hindustan Unilever (then Hindustan Lever) in 1994 as Area Sales Manager.
