Buoyed by the success of the earlier edition, the conclave promises an elite gathering of Chief Ministers of four North Eastern states, top politicians, sports stars, industrialists and entertainers

India Today Group to host second edition of The India Today Conclave East in Kolkata

The second edition of the India Today Conclave East will be a power-packed event with the presence of Chief Ministers from the North-East along with top ministers, sports stars, industrialists and entertainers, all on one platform. The two-day conclave will take place in Kolkata on October 5 and 6 at The Oberoi Grand hotel.

The second edition of the India Today Conclave East will see the four Chief Ministers of North Eastern states, Pema Khandu, Chief Minister, Arunachal Pradesh; Conrad Sangma, Chief Minister, Meghalaya; N. Biren Singh, Chief Minister, Manipur and Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister, Tripura, coming together to share, discuss and critique the burning questions faced by their states.

Gowher Rizvi, Special Advisor to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, will speak about Friends and Neighbours, Sharing More Than a Border.

Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Moon Moon Sen, Koel Mallick, Dibakar Banerjee, Tanushree Dutta, Pooja Bhatt and Anupam Roy will take the stage to talk about movies, culture, music and entertainment.

Sports stars Jhulan Goswami, Swapna Barman and Rani Rampal will share their experience while industrialists Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, RP- Sanjiv Goenka Group and Sanjay Budhia, CEO Patton Group, will discuss on Betting big on Bengal.

The two-day event will also see top politicians, including Sitaram Yechury, Babul Supriyo, Amit Mitra, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ram Madhav, Sambit Patra, Jay Prakash Majumdar, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Derek O’Brien, Mukul Roy, Chandan Mitra, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Mahua Moitra and Malini Bhattacharya among others.

In 2017, the India Today Group acknowledged the vitality of the east by starting the India Today Conclave - East in Kolkata, to underline the economic resurgence, artistic heritage and cultural engagement of the region. The 12-state region is uniquely placed to becoming a $3trillion economy by 2035.

Since 2002, the India Today Conclave has been at the forefront of intellectual engagement and thought leadership. Over the years, the India Today Conclave has hosted presidents, prime ministers, sports icons, writers and movie stars.
