GEC Watch: Bigg Boss 11 finale tops chart in Urban markets

Zee Anmol hopped back to lead the U+R combined markets, as per the data released by BARC India for the week 3 of 2018 (January 13-19). The channel also maintained its lead in the rural markets. Star Bharat, meanwhile slipped to the second position in the combined markets. Colors too continued to lead the urban markets.

The finale episode of the popular reality show Bigg Boss on Colors was telecast on January 14, 2018 and it listed as the most watched show in the urban markets, while Sony Pal’s CID was a new entry to the top five shows in rural markets. Nimki Mukhiya of Star Bharat has earned good numbers and has maintained its position in the top shows’ list at No. 5, in U+R audience.

Top channels in U+R markets

As per select BARC India data for Week 3 of 2018 (January 13-19) for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Zee Anmol reclaimed the top spot with 736.662 million (last week 674.543 million) Impressions. Star Bharat slipped to No. 2 in the combined U+R markets with 691.997 million (last week 713.443 million) Impressions. In turn, Colors kept going at No. 3 position with 617.050 million (last week 627.061 million) Impressions. Sony Pal climbed a spot up to grab the fourth spot with 612.393 million (last week 561.707 million) Impressions. Zee TV, in turn, slipped to No. 5 position garnering 605.654 million (last week 571.781 million) Impressions. Star Utsav stayed at No. 6 garnering 547.746 million (last week 532.146 million) Impressions. Star Plus stayed at No. 7 with 472.073 million (last week 501.448 million) Impressions. Rishtey climbed to the No. 8 position with a gross viewership of 453.939 million (last week 421.999 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television slipped to the ninth spot by clocking 424.273 million (last week 434.651 million) Impressions. Sony SAB remained at No. 10 with 376.493 million (last week 401.334 million) Impressions.

Top shows in U+R markets

As per select data {HSM (U+R): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hours): 2+ Individuals}, Zee TV’s spin-off show Kundali Bhagya and its original fiction Kumkum Bhagya grabbed the top two spots with 12.549 million (last week 12.533 million) and 11.121 million (last week 11.275 million) Impressions, respectively. The finale episode of Colors’ popular reality show Bigg Boss grabbed the third spot by garnering 10.611 million Impressions. Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya stood at No. 4 by clocking 10.440 million (last week 10.676 million) Impressions (last week 9.185 million). Star Bharat’s Nimki Mukhiya that stood at No. 5 clocking 9.586 million (last week 9.831 million) Impressions in Week 3.

Top channels in urban markets

As the New Year starts, Colors continued to lead the flock of Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) in the urban markets, garnering 453.621 million (last week 457.653 million) Impressions. Zee TV was ranked as the second most-watched Hindi GEC, as it grew up by a spot, in the urban markets clocking 366.742 million (last week 346.290 million) Impressions. Star Bharat stood at the third spot by clocking 339.070 million (last week 331.958 million) Impressions. Star Plus slipped two spots to reach No. 4 in the urban markets with 333.222 million (last week 356.088 million) Impressions, followed by Sony Entertainment Television with 304.688 million (last week 310.921 million) Impressions. Sony SAB garnered 281.841 million (last week 297.416 million) Impressions, standing at No. 6. Sony Pal was at No. 7 with 192.567 million (last week 176.742 million) Impressions. Zee Anmol came in next at No. 8 with 174.245 million (last week 166.321 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya came out as the second most watched show in the third week of 2018 by garnering 7.884 million (last week 7.889 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya became the third most-watched show in urban markets with 6.704 million (last week 7.057 million) Impressions. Sony Sab’s flagship show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma was fourth in the list clocking 6.288 million (last week 6.872 million) Impressions, followed by Star Plus’ Ye Hai Mohabbatein with 5.870 million (last week 6.356 million) Impressions.

Zee Anmol held on to the top spot with 562.416 million (last week 508.221 million) Impressions. Sony Pal climbed No. 2 in rural markets garnering 419.826 million (last week 384.965 million) Impressions. Star Bharat continued to be at No. 4 spot in the rural markets recording 352.927 million (last week 371.722 million) Impressions.
