Twitter has collaborated with ESPNcricinfo to live stream the 2018 Indian Domestic T20 league auction on Twitter and connected devices.

Taking place on 27-28 January in Bengaluru, the player auction at the 11th season of the Domestic T20 league is special as all the eight teams are set to reshuffle according to the 10 year contract. The upcoming season will also witness a comeback of the two teams from Chennai  and Rajasthan  setting the stakes higher. The auction will see a pool of 578 players, including 360 Indians, go under the hammer as the teams will attempt to recruit the winning lineups. Only 182 players will get contracts.

ESPNcricinfo will cover the selection process live and provide in-depth analysis and reactions to the event as the day unfolds on ESPNcricinfo website and app.

For the live show, ESPNcricinfo has two most admired and relevant cricketers and analysts - ex-South African specialist batsman Daryll Cullinan and former Indian cricketer and pacer Ajit Agarkar. These experts will be joined by ESPNcricinfo’s anchor Gaurav Kalra and in-house analyst Gaurav Sundaraman to deliver auction day analysis with a unique perspective with their usual unfailingly original and credible insights.

The live streaming coverage begins on 27 January at 10.00AM, and will be available from the @ESPNcricinfo Twitter account.

"Cricket, and in particular the Indian Domestic T20 league, are huge drivers of Twitter conversation, and this collaboration is a great way to tap into the engaged audience of cricket fans that are already using Twitter as a primary source of content," said Aneesh Madani, APAC Head of Sports at Twitter. "By partnering with a leading digital cricket brand like @ESPNcricinfo, we look forward to bringing the best of #AuctionDay live video and conversation together on Twitter."

"ESPNcricinfo is known worldwide for being the original, and best, home of  highest-quality news, analysis and videos. We are constantly working towards enhancing user experience and welcome opportunities to engage with new and existing fans,” said Ramesh Kumar, Vice President, Head of ESPN India and South Asia. "The live stream on ESPNcricinfo and on Twitter will be a short cut for fans in India, as they can both watch and engage on the platform at the same time."
