Arunabh Kumar, founder and CEO, The Viral Fever (TVF), has put in his papers, handing over the reins of the company to Dhawal Gusain. Kumar was accused of sexual harassment by a former colleague.
Kumar took to Twitter on Friday late afternoon to announce his plans to move on, saying that he will be available to mentor the team for content creation. Kumar’s letter also mentions how the company reacted in a hurry and sent out an adamant, rude reply to the complaints being lodged against him and that he wants to correct it now.
He mentioned that the image and stability of TVF is of utmost importance and that is why he is moving on.
Gusain has been with TVF since 2015 as the COO of the firm. With over a decade of industry experience, Gusain has been in leadership and management roles across various sectors and geographies. In the past, he has worked with Hindustan Unilever Limited, PwC’s Strategy and (formerly Booz & Company) and DropThought (VC backed silicon valley start-up) at various locations in India and the United States.
Gusain holds a MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B-Tech from IIT Kharagpur.
Kumar had launched TVF in 2010, after MTV rejected his creation, ‘Engineer’s Diary’.
