Chitralekha associates with Niraj Srivastava's book 'Daggers of Treason'

Chitralekha Group associated with the formal launch of the International Award Winning Novel Daggers Of Treason (The Curse of the Mughal Series) by Niraj Srivastava that took place on December 4 at Novotel Hotel, Juhu. Amitabh Bachchan graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The high-tea evening, hosted by ex-senior bureaucrat, Ashok Kacker and Chairman Chitralekha Group, Maulik Kotak was attended by the prominent guests from diverse backgrounds. Theatre and film director, playwright and screenwriter, Firoz Abbas Khan did the honours of reading some excerpts from the book.

Srivastava debuts with the book slated to be a series of four books.  The fictional piece is a richly detailed rollercoaster ride of clandestine liaisons and intrigue within the harem, the grandeur and cruelty so easily juxtaposed within the Moghul realm, the call of the Timurids to wage relentless war, and the eventual decay of Padshah Ghazi Abu’l Fath Jalal Ud Din Mohammed Akbar. Deeply researched and fully plausible, it is difficult to ascertain facts from fiction. For lovers of history, fiction and thrill, this book is a reader’s delight!

Srivastava earned a doctorate in management and is an avid reader. He is an accomplished bathroom singer and intrepid yodeler! He attributes his love for all things regal, ceremonial and simple ludicrous, to weave a yarn at the drop of his hat! He lives in Allahabad with his family.

At the launch evening, about the author and his Allahabad connection Bachchan said, “It’s true that I lived and worked in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai but wherever I have lived, I was always called Chora Ganga Kinare Wala”
