Big Ganga launched four new shows for its viewers in Bihar, Jharkhand and Purvanchal. The new shows titled Litti-Chokha, Ganga Sankranti, Buddha and Biraha were launched on January 14.

The travelogue comedy Litti-Chokha covers cities in Bihar, Jharkhand and Purvanchal to explore their uniqueness, including their cuisine, cultural heritage and the local talent. The anchors are quirky regional characters called Litti and Chokha. The half-an-hour show is telecast every weekend, Saturday and Sunday, at 4 pm. The show is aired on 92.7 Big FM's Ranchi and Jamshedpur stations every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm.

The channel had come up with a weekend segment, Ganga Sankranti, keeping the festivities around Makar Sankranti in mind. The two-day activity aimed at capturing the essence of Bhojpuri hip hop and folk music with known artistes and local talent.

The channel is looking at strengthening its mythological line-up with yet another offering Buddha, a historical devotional fiction in Bhojpuri. Bihar being the land of the origin of Buddhism, the fiction show will find high appeal among viewers. The half-an-hour show started on January 16 at 6.30 pm and is scheduled to telecast from Monday to Friday.

The fourth show Biraha is a non-fiction offering based on the popular traditional folk song form of the region. 'Birha' is a combination of mini-stories to engage audiences. With this format, the channel aims to preserve its folk heritage. It will feature the region's popular Birha singers locked in a tele-challenge to win the most Birha title. The show is scheduled to telecast from 8pm to 9pm on January 21 and January 22.

Speaking on the launch, a spokesperson from Big Ganga said, “At Big Ganga, we have always strived to produce original content specially tailored towards fulfilling the needs and aspirations of our viewers. Our programming is a result of deep research and an in-depth understanding of the markets we are present in. Within the Hindi heartland, we are catering to audiences with diverse tastes and preferences. Hence by introducing four new offerings at one go, we are catering to the deep pockets of the region with multiple genres of content.”
