IPL grabs 1.21 bn Impressions, sans finals

The 59 matches of the Indian Premier League Season 10 have garnered a total viewership of 1.21 billion Impressions. These are the matches till semi-finals, played on Saturday, May 20. The seven matches in the week 20 clocked a total of 137.2 million Impressions.

The viewership of the whole season, sans finals, touched 1.21 billion Impressions in the 10th edition. All the viewership is for Sony Max, Sony Six (SD+HD) and Sony ESPN (SD+HD).

Other than the Finals which are yet to be measured on the viewership charts, the second match of the season played between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants became the most viewed match with 30.3 million Impressions.

The third match of the season Gujarat Lions versus Kolkata Knightriders stood at No. 2 with 29.7 million Impressions, followed by the first qualifier match between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants that clocked 29.6 million Impressions. The fourth most watched match was the 10th match played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians with 29.5 million Impressions.

At No. 6 were Royal Challengers Bangalore versus Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad versus Royal Challengers Bangalore that gained 28.3 million Impressions, each. The 22nd match of IPL 10 Kings IX Punjab versus Mumbai Indians became the eighth most watched match till Finals with 28.2 million Impressions.

At No. 9 was the match seven played between Kolkata Knightriders and Mumbai Indians (28.1 million Impressions) and at No. 10 was the qualifier match between Kolkata Knightriders and Mumbai Indians (27.8 million Impressions).

Meanwhile, in Week 20, Sony Max garnered 922.869 million Impressions, while Sony Six topped the sports genre with 293.420 million Impressions. The qualifier match between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants topped the most watched programmes’ list in movies genre with 19.403 million Impressions, while the second qualifier between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knightriders grabbed 18.763 million Impressions. On spot three was the match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knightriders that got 15.374 million Impressions.

Similarly, all matches were in the most watched list on sports genre too.
