Myleeta Aga, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, BBC Worldwide's India, has now been given the additional role of helping its South East Asia (SEA) business, effective from January 2017. She is also the Content Lead, Asia, for the company.

In her new role, she will report to David Weiland, Executive Vice-President, BBC Worldwide Asia. She will work from BBC's offices in Mumbai and Singapore.

This elevation makes Aga additionally responsible for all of BBC Worldwide's SEA business, including driving content, format and digital sales. Along with that, she will also oversee business development of the well-established channels and BBC Player services. Looking after BBC World News distribution interests in the SEA region will also come under her purview.

Aga said, "I look forward to the challenge of adding SEA to my India responsibilities. We have a great mix of businesses and I am sure working across markets will create exciting new opportunities for BBC in Asia."

Aga started off her journey in the television space in 1993 with UTV. After spending four years at UTV, she moved on to Pearson Television in Indonesia where she spent two years. She then moved to join Discovery Communications as Executive Producer in 2000. After that, she moved on to Travel Channel, Washington DC, in 2005. She then moved on from Travel Channel and co-founded What's On India with Atul Phadnis. What's On India is an electronic programming guide.

After that, she has been with BBC Worldwide in different capacities and has now been shifted up the ladder to take care of South East Asia.
