KHMC-Season-3

Colors Marathi, the Marathi GEC of Viacom 18, has announced the launch of the third season of Kon Hoeel Marathi Crorepati (KHMC) -- the Marathi adaptation of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? In its third season, the game show will offer prize money of Rs 3 crore, the maximum amount offered in any regional reality show.

KHMC will be launched on October 3 and will be aired every Monday to Wednesday, at 9 pm. Another show, Comedy Chi Bullet Train, will be relaunched with more judges on October 6, Thursday to Saturday, at 9 pm.

KHMC had actor Sachin Khedekar as the host for the first two seasons and it did phenomenally well for the channel. This time around, the channel has roped in a younger face, Swwapnil Joshi, to host the show.

While the first two seasons also featured on the same channel, this is the first time the channel bears the 'Colors' name. This time again, the show has couples as participants. It can be any two people from a family.

Anuj Poddar, Head, Colors Marathi, Viacom 18, said, “Last year, we focused on establishing the channel. Hence we waited for a year. This time we are sure the channel, the new name and the refreshed channel has strongly established itself and hence we brought the property back. It is a priority one, a flagship property on the channel.”

The channel has upped its ad rates significantly and is now selling it at Rs 50,000 for a 10-second slot for KHMC season 3.

It spent close to Rs 3 crore on the marketing of the show. The high-decibel marketing campaign was launched on September 27. The channel has roped in Rin as the presenting sponsor and Jio, Saraswat Bank and Kesari as associate sponsors. The channel has already booked 50 per cent of the revenue on the show.

Produced by BIG Synergy, the show has many newer things to charm the audience. Poddar said, “In its first two years, Kaun Hoeel Marathi Crorepati had transformed lives – both in terms of the prize money and as a format adapted for the Marathi-speaking audience. So this year we decided to set new standards – the largest ever prize money in Marathi television history and for the first time, anywhere in the world, a chat lifeline has been incorporated in the format. The Marathi audience today is brimming with infectious energy, is contemporary while being culturally disposed and is raring to embrace every opportunity to success and happiness. This year with KHMC3, we are providing a platform for all our Marathi viewers to embrace this new identity.”

About the new host, Anuj added, “Swapnil is a phenomenon across Maharashtra and I am sure that his verve and enthusiasm will make every Maharashtrian believe in the opportunity to transform their life through this remarkable show.”

Talking about the Kon Hoeel Marathi Crorepati's widespread popularity and host, Siddhartha Basu, Big Synergy, said, “This year with a youthful new host, who is a versatile and much loved star of the big and small screen, the show is skewing younger and is broadening its appeal. Swapnil is witty, spontaneous, charming and is able to build an electric connect with contestants and viewers alike. Combined with an enhanced jackpot of Rs3 crore and a unique 'Group Chat' lifeline being pioneered by India, we're confident of a much freshened new season of Kon Hoeel Marathi Crorepati.”
