92.7 Big FM back with melodious journey of 'Yaadon Mein Pancham'

The month-long ode to the legendary R D Burman will delight listeners across 36 regional and Hindi-speaking markets with his memorable music

India's only retro programming radio broadcaster 92.7 Big FM, is back with the second year of 'Yaadon Mein Pancham' -- a month-long ode to the legendary RD Burman to delight listeners across 36 regional and Hindi-speaking markets (HSMs).

The month of June will be dedicated to the contemporaries of Burman – popular as Pancham Da -- as well as an entire generation of musicians who will reminisce how he had been an inspiration, a mentor, a friend or a motivation for them.

Pancham Da was known to be the most seminal music directors of all time. His experimental compositions have been an inspiration to artists and fans alike, often being credited for revolutionising music in the film industry. The broadcaster will play songs and share exclusive stories about the music director on its most heard show 'Suhaana Safar with Annu Kapoor' across its markets. The afternoon time band will be dedicated to sharing more exclusive stories with listeners, and the evening time band will render listeners with unplugged versions of his compositions.

Artists  and musicians like Javed Akhtar, Gulzar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Pyaarelal, Anu Malik, Shaan, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Jubin Nautiyal, and Lalit Pandit to name a few, will be a part of the month-long tribute building up to his birth anniversary on June 27, 2016. All of them will get together to pay respect to the music maestro by performing unplugged versions of some of his best songs on the channel.

The special day will be devoted to the legend by urging his fans to send in requests to play his soulful music and share their favourite Pancham Da stories, thereby making it a memorable experience for listeners.
