Super Fight League announced the appointment of Rajesh Mehta as the COO. He will take over the operations of the first-ever Mixed Martial Arts League (MMAL) in the world slated to begin from January 2017. Super Fight League is the world's first-ever MMAL and one of the biggest digitally viewed leagues promoted by British business magnate and sports enthusiast Bill Dosanjh and British professional boxing sensation and two-time world champion Amir Khan.

Bill Dosanjh, CEO and Principal Founder, Super Fight League, said, “Rajesh is a man of vast experience and expertise and Super Fight League with its ground-breaking announcement is on the threshold of changing the history of MMA in India. This is a move that requires the right handling and I feel there is no one better than him to help Super Fight League actualise its potential. Mehta said, “I am extremely happy to assume the Operational Charge of Super Fight League and will endeavour to make it one of the most exciting and sought after sports experience for the viewers.”

As the COO of the inaugural Mixed Martial Arts League to be hosted in India, Rajesh Mehta will be guiding all the functions like branding and marketing, operations and alliances. Mehta will be responsible to design and implement business strategies, plans, procedures and setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth of the organisation.

The Franchisee based league, which is scheduled to start from January 20, will feature eight teams. It is being organised in association by the All India Martial Arts Association (AIMAA).

The Super Fight League will be broadcast live on Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD whereas the opening ceremony will be live on Sony Max. The matches will be held on weekends over Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will be broadcast from 7 to 9 pm.

Mehta comes with an experience of 25 years of working across countries and cultures in various roles in leading organisations and has vast experience in strategic planning, operations, marketing, media planning and buying. He has successfully led management and marketing teams and programmes at Western Union, Emami, Pidilite Industries, Rasna, Tips & Toes and Mukand before joining the Super Fight League management team.
