In a surprise development, Arnab Goswami, President - News and Editor-in-Chief, Times Now and ET Now, has called it a day. Speculation in the market is that he is going to start something on his own in the media domain in months to come. When BestMediaInfo contacted Goswami, he refused to comment on his future course of action.

Goswami announced his resignation in an editorial meeting earlier today. It is rumoured that this evening's 'Newshour' will be the last by him, though we could not get any confirmation on this. Some channel sources claimed that he has not been coming to office since Friday, October 21, 2016.

Goswami was elevated to the position of  President - News and Editor-in-Chief of both Times Now and ET Now in June 2015.

Goswami started his career with The Telegraph in Kolkata. Within a year he joined NDTV in 1995. He later joined Times Now as its Editor-in-Chief in 2006.

As an army officer's son, he attended schools in various cities. Goswami has a Bachelors (Honours) degree in Sociology from the Hindu College (Delhi University). In 1994, Goswami completed his Master's in Social Anthropology from St. Antony's College (Oxford University).

To borrow your famous line, this time the nation wants to know why you quit and what you will do next!
