McCann Worldgroup India was the most awarded agency at Asia Pacific Appies awards held at Singapore. The agency picked up three Golds and three Silvers from a shortlisted 73 campaigns from 12 countries in the region. India won the most number of awards followed by Malaysia.
McCannâs gold winning work included the much successful relaunch campaign for Maggi, the âLight up a villageâ campaign for Western Union, and the Culture-inspired idea of âDettol Ka Dhulaâ to promote hygiene in India.
The agency also won Silver for its Holi campaign for Maricoâs hair care brand Parachute, âFair Sex Fair Sayâ campaign for I-can pills, and Skore Condoms.
Rajesh Sharma, the Group Planning Director at McCann India, also picked up Gold for Best Presenter.
BBH India picked up a Silver for Philips Air Purifiers campaign âBringing air pollution closer to peopleâs liveâ.
MTV India was the sole media owner winner, claiming Silver with its âDunk that junkâ idea.
Among the other gold winning campaigns from the region included Cannes winning âThe Emotional Trailerâ campaign for the Melbourne International Film Festival by McCann Melbourne, BBHâs campaign âWorst case scenarioâ for Vaseline, The âBig Mac Dubsmash Chant Challengeâ for McDonaldâs by Leo Burnett, and âBringing Back the Migrant Loveâ for Digi by Naga DDB.
