The first day of Cannes Lions 2016 was a great day for the Indian advertising industry. Medulla Communications, Mumbai, swept as many as seven Lions in the Pharma category.
Apart from this, the agency was also awarded the âHealthcare Agency of the Yearâ. This is the first time that an Indian agency has done progressive global work in the field of healthcare advertising.
The next agency was Langland, Windsor, and third was McCann Health, Hong Kong. The âHealthcare Network of the Yearâ went to McCann Health, the second to Publicis Healthcare Communications Group and third to Ogilvy Commonhealth Worldwide.
Commenting on the results, Lions Health Festival Director, Louise Benson, said, âWeâre delighted to reward and celebrate the ground-breaking work, providing a benchmark of excellence in the healthcare communications industry. Now in its third year, Lions Health is an arena to recognise achievements and we would like to thank the jury for collectively selecting our 2016 winners.â
Medulla Communications is led by Praful Akali, Founder and Managing Director, and his brother Amit Akali, Managing Director and Creative Head of Whatâs Your Problem and former NCD of Grey India.
Amit Akali took to Facebook to express the achievement. His post read: âToday was historic. The MC announced that for the first time an Indian agency has won Agency of the Year.
