Commenting on the results, Lions Health Festival Director, Louise Benson, said, “We’re delighted to reward and celebrate the ground-breaking work, providing a benchmark of excellence in the healthcare communications industry. Now in its third year, Lions Health is an arena to recognise achievements and we would like to thank the jury for collectively selecting our 2016 winners.”

Medulla Communications is led by Praful Akali, Founder and Managing Director, and his brother Amit Akali, Managing Director and Creative Head of What’s Your Problem and former NCD of Grey India.

Amit Akali took to Facebook to express the achievement. His post read: “Today was historic. The MC announced that for the first time an Indian agency has won Agency of the Year. Medulla became Cannes Healthcare Agency of the Year with 2 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze and 3 shortlists. This one's for India. And the Indian contingent celebrated and how.”
