Goafest 2016 felicitated some industry veterans for their contributions to the media, entertainment and advertising industries. Among those feted at the three- day annual event to recognize achievements in the media and advertising industries, were Vineet Jain, Managing Director, Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. and Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and Creative Director, Ogilvy South Asia.

On the second day of the event, the media and advertising fraternity came together to felicitate Pandey on receiving the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India. Vineet Jain was felicitated for his significant contribution to innovative growth in the media industry, his unstinting support to the advertising industry, his unflinching belief in the importance of creative communication and his ongoing efforts to use communication as a force for societal change.

Pandey thanked the people of India for inspiring him with ideas. Speaking to BestMediaInfo.com after receiving this award, an emotional Pandey said, “It was a magical moment for me to be cheered by young advertising people and to be honoured by the industry, which has been a part of more than half my life. I hope that the youngsters believe that if Piyush Pandey can do it, so can they.”
