HT Media has informed the BSE that the 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company will be held on September 25, 2015.
Among the core agenda listed for the AGM, is proposing Shamit Bhartia’s name for the post of Managing Director of HT Media. If approved, Bhartia will be designated as Joint Managing Director. The appointment will be for a period of five years. The MD’s role was earlier held by Shamit’s mother, Shobhana Bhartia, who is also Chairperson and Editorial Director of the group.
Shamit Bhartia is a whole-time director and has been associated with the company since its incorporation. He had earlier worked in corporate finance and M&A group, Lazard Frere, New York, from July 2001 to August 2002.
Meanwhile, also on the AGM agenda is HT Media’s proposal to transfer ‘Hindustan’ and certain other Hindi publication related trademarks to its subsidiary, Hindustan Media Ventures.
