Zee TV is leaving no stone unturned in transporting its audiences to the 1940s for its classic romance, ‘EK Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’. The new series goes on air today and will air every Monday to Friday at 9.30 pm. Staying true to the show’s proposition of #TurnBackTime, the channel has recorded radio spots with the most iconic radio announcer of India and a voice synonymous with the golden age of All India Radio – Ameen Sayani.
Sayani, known for his inimitable style and infectious charm, shot to fame all across the South Asian continent with the popular AIR show, ‘Geetmala’. He still remains the most emulated and respected radio announcer.
Having been signed on for the very first time by a television channel to promote its upcoming period drama, Sayani said, “Zee TV is one of India’s finest TV channels, and I’ve had the good fortune of having been quite closely associated with it during its early days. I was very happy indeed when Zee TV approached me to record a voice-over for the radio spots of its upcoming TV serial, ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’.”
Big FM’s show ‘Yadaon Ka Idiot box’, hosted by RJ Neelesh Mishra, also gave viewers a sneak preview of ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani' on July 24 between 9 pm and 11 pm. Furthermore, on July 27, the radio station will have three of its most popular RJs travel back in time to the 1940s and give trivia on fashion, cuisine and style related to that time to listeners, connecting it with ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’.
