Lloyd Mathias, Marketing Director - PC & Printing Division, Hewlett Packard India has been elevated to Marketing Head - Consumer PC for HP’s Asia-Pacific-Japan region. According to informed industry sources, Mathias will be moving to Singapore in a couple of months to take charge of his new role.
Mathias’ last corporate role was as CMO at Tata Docomo and prior to that he headed Marketing at Motorola India during the MotoRAZR days. He had also spent over a decade at PepsiCo India and was Executive VP marketing for the India region.
HP over the past year has been aggressively consolidating its market leadership in the PCs and printers space with a spate of marketing initiatives. With a sharp focus on the millennials, HP signed on actor Deepika Padukone in early 2014. HP made its foray into the tablet space with the launch of the VoiceTab in May 2014 and later in the year broke the Bend The Rules campaign, which had Deepika highlighting successes of young Indian millennials.
More recently, HP announced a tie-up with Bang & Olufsen speakers integrated into its range of PCs.
