Danish Khan, Programming Head, Star Plus, has put in his papers and is set to return to Multi Screen Media. He will be joining Sony Entertainment Television as Business Head, replacing Nachiket Pantvaidya.

Though Khan refused to confirm or deny the development when contacted, industry sources say that Khan has returned to Sony as Business Head and that an official announcement will be made in a week's time.

Meanwhile, Pantvadiya, who had taken over as Senior EVP and Business Head of Sony, will continue to remain with the channel.

This is Khan's second stint with Sony. He had earlier joined MSM (then SET India) in 2002 and had initially worked at Max, MSM's hybrid channel. He played a key role in the team that successfully built the 2003 and 2007 World Cup properties. He then moved within the organisation to Sony Entertainment Television as VP and Marketing Head, where he played a key role in the success of shows like 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'.

He quit MSM in 2012 to join Star Plus as Programming Head in early 2013. At Star, he's credited with building shows like 'Mahabharat' and 'Tere Sheher Main'.

A sociology graduate with a postgraduate degree in management, Khan has more than 10 years of experience in advertising and the broadcasting industry.
