Focus TV, the news network promoted by steel baron Naveen Jindal, witnessed two senior-level exits this month with the channel’s Group CEO Neeraj Sanan and Managing Editor for its regional channels, Shailesh Kumar, putting in their papers after brief stints.
It is also learnt that Sandeep Bamzai, who recently resigned as Editor of Mail Today, has joined Focus TV but his designation is yet to be announced. Bamzai had to step down following his name figuring in the recent leaks on the Essar Group granting favours to certain media persons.
Sanan, formerly Chief Marketing Officer of MCCS, had joined Focus TV in April last year. Kumar, the former CEO and Editor-in-Chief of News Nation, had joined as Managing Editor for the network’s regional channels in December last year. With an experience of over three decades, Kumar had stints with Aaj Tak, The Times of India, Navbharat Times, Discovery and Zee News.
Sanan entered the media industry around seven years ago after spending 12 years in FMCG companies including Dabur, Joyco, Asian Paints and ICI Paints. He spent a year with Network18 as Marketing Head for Web18 before moving to MCCS in 2008.
Focus TV Group runs five news and current affairs channels (Focus Haryana, NETV, NE Bangla, Hamar, Focus Odisha), one lifestyle and entertainment channel (NEHIFI) and two radio stations across North-east India.
