The tournament recorded global audience across platforms with 48% higher traffic than the previous tournament

Cricket fans around the world followed the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup over the past six weeks, as Australia hosted, and ultimately, won the title. The tournament recorded ESPNcricinfo’s most successful tournament in the site’s 21-year history across web, mobile web and apps – shattering all previous records logged by the cricket website.
In India alone, ESPNcricinfo witnessed a huge increase since the last year World Cup tournament, with a rise of over 58 per cent in terms of daily unique visits and over 212 per cent compared to the ICC T20 World Cup over a year ago. Additionally, mobile as a platform emerged to be a key driver of growth with an increase of over 49 per cent in daily uniques from last the 2011 World Cup.

Video, in particular, saw enormous growth, with a 345 per cent increase in daily video views as compared to during the ICC Twenty 20 World Cup just a year ago. Globally, daily unique visitors on mobile platform increased by over 74 per cent than the last season of the tournament.
Compared to the 2011 World Cup tournament, ESPNcricinfo was up 48 per cent in daily unique visitors globally across platforms. Specifically in India, the West Indies, Australia and the US, average daily unique visitors were up 58 per cent, 70 per cent, 31 per cent and 19 per cent, respetively, while it more than doubled (up 115 per cent) in New Zealand.
