AdFest has announced that Dentsu Aegis Network will host this year's Young Lotus Workshop, a two-and-a-half-day workshop in which creative teams from around the region will learn from some of the network's top executives before being presented with a live brief and given 24 hours to make the deadline.

Dentsu Aegis Network will bring together a strong line-up of mentors and speakers to instruct 13 teams representing 13 different cities: Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka, Guangzhou, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Mumbai, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo.

This year, the Young Lotus Workshop will center around 'Innovation', the crossroad of Dentsu Aegis Network's vision of 'Innovating the Way Brands are Built' and mother company Dentsu Inc's mantra of 'Good Innovation'. The young creatives will be asked to create a campaign that is not just creatively innovative, but uses innovation in every single aspect of the execution – proving that they are the industry's fresh blood.

Ted Lim, Regional Chief Creative Officer, Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific, has been appointed Co-Chairman of this year's Young Lotus Workshop, a function he will share with Dick van Motman, Chairman and CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia. Former Dentsu legend Akira Kagami, Executive Advisor of Drill Inc, Japan, will serve as Chief Instructor for the Young Lotus Workshop.

Dick van Motman remarked, “We are extremely pleased with this opportunity to once more show that Dentsu Aegis Network is committed to nurturing young talent. Whether it is young marketers in Cannes and Spikes, or young creatives here in Pattaya – this network recognises the importance of transferring knowledge to younger generations on a global level.”

“In our journey to becoming the first global network to rise out of Asia, it is essential to engage with the future leaders in this industry. These interactions are a two-way street – we learn as much from this young talent as we teach them, and it is initiatives like the Young Lotus Workshop that allow us to keep innovating the way brands are built,” he added.

Other mentors at this year's Young Lotus Workshop include Jeffry Gamble (Executive Creative Director, McGarryBowen Greater China), Yukio Nakayama (Creative Advisor, Dentsu Inc), and Kei Shimada (Global Director of Innovation and Business Development, CDC, Dentsu Inc). Meanwhile, Marie Gruy (Regional Director, Carat Asia Pacific), James Hawkins (President, Dentsu Digital Capabilities, Dentsu Aegis Network South and Southeast Asia and CEO, Dentsu Möbius) and Takemi Furuta (President and CEO, Dentsu Plus Thailand) will also provide a session for the students.

The Young Lotus teams who create the best ideas will appear in front of a live audience at AdFest on Friday, March 20, 2015. Delegates will then have the chance to vote for their favourite team to determine the Young Lotus Popular Vote. The winners of the Young Lotus and the Popular Vote will be revealed that night.

AdFest will take place on March 19-21 at Royal Cliff Hotels Group in Pattaya, Thailand.
