PepsiCo India is gearing up for the summers with its Indian thirst quencher – 7UP Nimbooz Masala Soda. Actor Anushka Sharma has been signed on as brand ambassador for the brand, who will be seen in a feisty avatar in an all new thematic TVC for 7UP Nimbooz Masala Soda, in line with the refreshed global 7UP proposition of 'Tu UP Toh Duniya UP'.
The TVC has been conceptualised by BBDO India, while the media and digital duties are being handled by Mindshare and The Glitch, respectively. The TVC premiered on March 27, 2015.
Directed by film director Vikas Bahl, the ad film reinstates the celebration of unmistakable authenticity and spreading cheer. The film represents the fact that everyone is awesome in their own way and should celebrate their authentic self. A middle-aged guy at a humdrum wedding party refuses to dance, citing that he's not a good dancer and does a clumsy 'No-No' hand gesture. And a bubbly Anushka, determined to make the party a bit more 'Chatpataka', takes him up on that, imitating the hand gesture to turn it into a dance step. The man gets encouraged with Anushka's energy and starts enjoying his undiscovered dancing talent while others join in.
Speaking on the campaign, Ruchira Jaitly, Senior Director, Marketing (Social Beverages), PepsiCo India, said, “7UP Nimbooz Masala Soda believes that each one of us is naturally unique and original in our own way, and by being our natural self, we can make the world cheerful. The new campaign, 'Let's do the Chatpataka', celebrates this philosophy with Anushka, who truly personifies the real Indian Chatpataka.”
Sandipan Bhattacharyya, Executive Creative Director, BBDO India, elaborated, “When you are your authentic, natural self, you are always on song. That's what this film demonstrates by seamlessly transforming a person's shy reluctance into a groovy 'No-No' dance move. It really doesn't matter if you aren't the world's greatest dancer, but you sure can spread the cheer by doing what comes to you naturally.”
